Harry Potter and the cursed child ~ J.K. Rowling & John Tiffany
rating: 3.5 Goodreads rating: 3.76
The script to the play. (in play format) It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.
What I thought:
I was so happy to see the characters I loved again. It was so fun to see the crew as adults dealing with their own children. I enjoyed the new aspects and revisiting characters and places from the original books. It was a fast read although it may take time to adjust to the format. The downside was the format, the shortness, and the retelling of things that already happened. I also was disappointed how dumb they made Ron seem. In total I liked it but was no way as good as the original books with such rich content, details, characters and emotion but i still liked it a lot.
would i recommend it:
yes but with warning of the format and how short it is.
